Content Guidelines
What you can upload
We’re excited to have you share kids’ illustrations with us! To help make sure uploads are fun, safe and appropriate, please follow these simple rules:
Do
Upload artwork that you created yourself, where you own the rights.
Submit original drawings, paintings or digital art made by you or your child.
Use descriptive titles and tags so others can find your work easily.
Make sure the artwork is kid-friendly, colourful and appropriate for all ages.
Don’t
Upload someone else’s artwork (unless you have explicit permission).
Use known copyrighted characters (e.g., the “Mickey Mouse” character, “Spider-Man”, etc.), trademarks or brand logos.
Upload images that contain nudity, violence, hate speech, crude or offensive content.
Upload the same artwork multiple times, or very similar versions of the same piece.
Use the platform to host unrelated content (e.g., non-kids illustrations or commercial advertisements).
Why these rules exist
We want Toodles to be a place of original creativity - so uploads must be your own work. Many stock-illustration platforms likewise require original work and prohibit copyrighted characters/logos.
We want the gallery to stay appropriate for kids - so any content that’s unsuitable must be filtered out.
Repeated uploads or slight variations create clutter and reduce value of the gallery (as seen in many contributor-guidelines).
Clear titles/tags help with searching and usability.
Additional details & tips
Copyright & Permissions
If you didn’t draw it, don’t upload it unless you have permission.
Avoid using characters from movies, TV shows, comics, or brand mascots.
If your artwork includes a recognisable person, place or logo, you must have permission.
We can’t accept content that contains logos, names of companies, brands, people.
Quality & readability (especially for kids)
Make sure your illustration is clear and legible (avoid heavy blurring, unrecognisable elements).
Use bright colours, understandable shapes.
Crop/format so the artwork itself is the focus (not lots of background or distractions).
Kid-friendly content
No violent or graphic images.
No hate speech, discriminatory or offensive imagery.
Keep it playful, inclusive and safe for children and families.
Uniqueness & avoid duplicates
Don’t upload several almost-identical versions of the same drawing (e.g., same picture with only a slight colour change).
Many guidelines warn against spamming similar content.
Metadata – title & description
Give your illustration a simple title (e.g., “My rainbow unicorn”).
Be honest - don’t mislead with titles or descriptions that don’t match the illustration.
When your upload might be removed
If it violates any of the “don’ts” above.
If the illustration is clearly not your original creation.
If the content is inappropriate for kids.
If you keep uploading duplicate or near-duplicate versions.
If the title/description are misleading or inappropriate. We’ll notify you if your upload is removed, and you may be asked to fix issues or possibly lose upload privileges for repeated violations.
Summary
Thank you for contributing to Toodles! By uploading your own original, kid-friendly artwork, you help build a vibrant, creative community. Just remember: own it, keep it appropriate, and make it unique.
